Ideal Classic FF350 problem
Hi guys, got a problem that could do with your help.....
I drained down a system to add a rad, the boiler is an ideal classic ff350. When filled system back up, the boiler now cuts out after firing up for about a minute. I have replaced the zone valves too so and I know they work ok.
I know there is little information out there for fault finding as this boiler is very basic. Would the overheat stat not be working even tho boiler before was fine.....
Any help would be greatly appreciated.....
Ta, frankief

Re: Ideal Classic FF350 problem
Take it you have not been inside the boiler to dislodge anything therefore would go fora circulation problem, check pump ok then air lock, make sure any manual finger vents have been opened, any on pipework above boiler?
leave system running,it may clear after a few hours or you could blast through with a bit of mains pressure
imho

Re: Ideal Classic FF350 problem
air lock probably, how was the water when it drained down?
As Puddle stated a blast of mains water through can work wonders.
Bullet proof boilers, were my favourite for years, knocked spots of the Suprima.

Definitely sounds like a pump or air problem, did you bleed the pump when re-filling? Any thumb vents anywhere?

Re: Ideal Classic FF350 problem
Definitely sounds like an air lock. If there is a drain off above the boiler, attach a hose to it and fill the system whilst having the drain off open. It pulls the water and air out the system.
