Potterton combi 80 central heating running then cutting out then back on again

Hi please could you help i have a combi 80 the central heating runs for 5mins or so then stops & then starts up again then repeats.

Hi moony Ive got no room stat fitted the boiler has had a new pcb board

Have these boilers got the filters inside flow and return valves??? Turn valves off drain down boiler and remove filters and clean. Deffo sounds like a circulation problem.

Are the radiators getting hot ? does the central heating temperature dial on the front of the boiler rotate fully from the minimum setting to the maximum ? [ if it was a clock from 12 - 9 ?]

can you post a pic of the valves to see if im right about them? if im right you can unscrew the front cap on the valve and remove a filter....it'll be like a cylindrical gauze...get yer finger in there and have a feel!!

no your right.....it dont have the valves on that i thought...just looked at the manual for it.

Hi rads are getting hot & the mechanical timer is working.

I dont mean the timer !! You should have a central heating temprature dial on the front of the boiler it should move from the 12oclock[ min temp] position round to the 9oclock position [ max temp]

No there is no clock but there is an adjuster on the pcb board

lol.....mattyp calm down before you have a seizure.....by looking at the manual it doesnt look like the 80combi have a ch temp dial.

and to be honest i think the boiler is coming to the end of its life and some parts may be obsolete......so if you can i'd look at renewing.
