Default british gas +magnaclean

just had an enquiry from my cousin. british gas cover chap came out to check circs on hot water cylinder. blamed poor flow on sludge. suggested a magnaclean needed to be fitted. price? £300. not bad really if you allow for a first visit to dose with cleanser, a second visit to flush and rinse (big 5 bed house with 3 reception rooms 1 main bath 2 ensuites and an open system to cap it all!) and then fit the magna clean.
who said british gas wasn't value for money? 13 rads in total i think!maybe two men two vans two sets of ladders two lots of cups of tea etc etc.
or am i a cynic?

told him i would look into cost of a magnaclean or something similar(saw a competitor at interbuild) ive never fitted one before so a new experience.i cant see BG doing it in a day(properly anyway)i personally would allow two full days for dosing, flushing and bleeding etc. any opinions?

Don't bother with the fernox boiler buddy, they're nowhere near as good as the magnaclean.

Cost for a magna clean is around £70 plus VAT for the 22mm version.

Use them all the time on the warmfront scheme. Nowhere near as good as the magnaclean in my opinion. If you want dirt catching ability as well as metal particles go for the new magnaclean that's been advertised all over.
