Default slow draining shower in downstairs shower room

    Good evening

I'm currently C&G 6129 and a friend of a friend has asked if I could go look at a slow draining shower in the downstairs shower room. The shower upstairs was slow running away but has since sorted its self according to the lady but now the downstairs shower room is blocked in a bad way.

My thoughts were blocked trap with hair and sediment, incorrect falls to soil stack etc?

    Any other thoughts or tips?

    Many thanks in advance

    Mart

Slight dip in the waste pipe if it is not well supported or clipped & the waste pipe will have water sitting in it & will cause airlock & therefore very slow drain off from shower. Most likely blockage especially women's long hair or soap though.

NO don't use a plunger as if it's push fit it may all blow apart under the floor!!

Was called to a hotel last year. A customer reported to reception that the bath wouldn't drain in a room. The hotel manager went up with a plunger and the bath drained away. Shortly afterwards the electric tripped in the hotel. When he went to investigate, he found in the dining room the ceiling had come down and the room was flooded - All he had succeeded in doing was popping a joint apart in the waste pipe.

I have always found 'Knockout' was very good at clearing wastes, but check the pipework first for dips etc

I second this. Done this when I was very inexperienced on a bath, overflow just blew straight off. Water sounded like it was draining.... It was.... Just not down the pipe
