Default Replacing electric showers with thermostatic mains showers

    Hello
We run a small guesthouse which has nine good (mostly Mira Flex) thermostatic electric showers.

We are planning on installing a new boiler which will provide more than enough hot water for mains fed showers. As these would be cheaper to run and be more powerful we are thinking through whether it would be practical to change them all over.

The main draw back is that we cannot afford to re-tile the shower enclosures at the moment and removing the electric shower boxes is bound to reveal broken tiles, screw holes etc.
Is there some way of hiding these defects with a fascia of some sort? Is this a common problem? Am I better sticking with what we have?

    Thanks

    Peter

If it's not broke, don't fix it.

Sounds like replacing them all would be prohibitively expensive. I have not come across a product that would cover the hole left by removing the electric showers. Equally unless you are going to have exposed pipes to new mixer showers, the new pipe work would need to concealed = serious damage and tiling.

Would make sense if you changed as and when you refurbished each shower room, as I am sure you will have to do over time.

Thank you I think we may size the heating system during the installation to allow for the showers to be added in one by one in the future as you say
